What makes PrivChat unique and appealing?

Internet Relay Chat has been around for well over twenty years
What makes PrivChat.net a viable alternative to some of the bigger networks?

  • Multiple Servers, Multiple Protocols

We have multiple servers and support both IPv6 and the legacy IPv4 protocol.

  • OpenSSL Encryption

Connections typically are established using TLSv1.2-ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384, which is a very strong encryption standard.

  • Automatic Obfuscation

We deliberately do not resolve IP addresses to host name. IP Addresses are always cloaked, and you can not turn this feature off.

  • Latin-1 Character Support

You can use Latin-1 characters in your nickname. This means that Þjóðhildur from Iceland and Mattäus from Germany can be happy.

  • Network Services

Services such as NickServ, HostServ, ChanServ, MemoServ and others are freely available (registration required).

  • Web Chat Available

We also fully support Mibbit Web Chat. Join our network using this link. This too is encrypted and secure.
